COURSE DESCRIPTION:
Inherent dangers exist with generation, transmission, and distribution of electricity.  The proper use of safety equipment, knowledge of electrical hazards, and knowledge of how to respond in the event of an electrical accident are absolutely essential for all electrical personnel.

This program is intended for individuals working on or near electrical equipment or distribution systems.  The program is also designed for supervisors, managers, safety personnel, and those responsible for ensuring a safe work environment.

In this six-hour electrical safety program you'll be provided with the information needed to comply with the latest OSHA mandates including the new NFPA 70E arc flash requirements.

James Hogan

 James Hogan is a Master
 Instructor and safety consultant
 with Electrical Reliability
 Services.  He has more than 22
 years experience in the
 operation, maintenance, and
 training of power generation
 plants. He has taught nuclear
 reactor and electrical theory at
 two separate DOE training
 facilities.  Recently retired from
 the Navy, his last assignment
 was as the senior advisor to the
 Commander Naval Air Forces for
 Reactor Control and Safety.
 

Leonard G. Solinap

 Leonard G. Solinap, a 30-year
 veteran of the United States
 Navy,  joined the Emerson Team
 in January 2005.  He has over 20
 years of experience in shipboard
 and industrial electrical
 engineering, including power
 distribution systems, repair,
 troubleshooting and overhaul of
 motors and generators.

 In addition to his Journeyman and
 Master Training Specialist
 certificates, he has a Bachelor of
 Science degree in Human
 Resource Management from the
 University of Maryland.
