           Control Your Energy Costs

After 30 years of helping major power users use power safely, efficiently and reliably, Emerson's Electrical Reliability Services is now a full-fledged ESCO or energy services company. We have a proven track record helping major power users get the most from the energy dollars they spend. For example:
  • At a U.S. government facility, we identified process and equipment changes that saved more than $900,000 annually and had a payback of less than 3 years.

  • At a retail store, we helped develop and implement a project with a payback of less than two years, which included installing motion detectors to operate overhead lighting in their large warehouse.

  • Another facility realized annual energy savings of 10% by commissioning an energy audit of their large motors. We analyzed the capacity of each motor along with the load it carried and replaced large motors with new "right-sized" motors. Our client qualified for an additional rebate from the utility, which we helped them obtain.

As the lessons of deregulation continue to unfold, major power users still have options to control the price they pay for power. Many of these options require sophisticated analysis of processes, schedules, maintenance and demand. Emerson's Electrical Reliability Services has the experience and the analytical tools to recommend cost saving measures and to measure and verify the energy savings in the long term.

Proven experience helping energy users:

  • Reduce the level of energy they use
  • Negotiate energy prices with lower cost energy producers
  • Purchase power at primary voltage rather than secondary
  • Explore options for load shedding, load shifting and demand limitations
  • Start up generation facilities for their own use
  • Finance the cost of energy efficient process equipment
  • Implement maintenance testing and engineering studies to use energy more efficiently
  • Improve safety and reliability throughout the facility
